- Add cheap, conventional oil
- Check for leaks and fluid levels
- Prime
- Disconnect crank position sensor
- Crank for 15 seconds, wait 15 seconds, repeat for 2 minutes
- After start:
- monitor oil pressure closely
- vary RPM for first 20 minutes
- watch for leaks
- Drain initial oil and replace with break-in oil
- Drive 50 miles
- Repeatedly increase speed slowly, and throttle down
- Drain and replace break-in oil
- Add more break-in oil
- Drive 500 miles and then replace break-in oil w/ conventional oil
